Hoshangabad: 22 children were injured as a school bus overturned at the Sanga Jhera intersection near the Babai block here.
Campion School's bus carried around 35 children when the accident took place.
The ambulance reached the spot immediately after receiving information. They were taken to the hospital where they are being treated.
A witness named Dilip Gaur said, "The bus was moving at a high speed and turned over while trying to overtake a tractor on its way."
According to sources, the condition of the bus was not very good.
"Despite several complaints from parents regarding the buses' condition, the administration did not respond to any of them," the source said.
Meanwhile, the collector of the area Shilendra Singh said, "The injured children are being treated at the district hospital."
"The ignorance of the administration towards the poor condition of buses is questionable. An investigation will be conducted in this matter so that any further accidents could be prevented," he added.
