Bhopal: Jamia Islamia Arabia Madrasa located at village Tumra, 25 km away from Bhopal, not only imparts Islamic education to its students but also teaches about Gauseva (cow service).
The 250 students of this madrasa, who live in a hostel, wholeheartedly take care of the cattle present in the cowshed and feed them time to time.
The students here even extract milk from them. Later, the milk is served to the students of the madrasa to drink.
Maulana Mohammad Ahmed Sahab, the current director of the madrasa told that the cowshed was set up by his father Maulana Abdul Razzaq saheb in 1980 and ever since people are taking care of cows here.
He further said that even at the age of 95 years his father regularly visits the cows.
The madrasa also features a dispensary in its premises, which provides free medical treatment and medicines to the people of nearby villages. Even, veterinarian pays regular visits here to treat cows.
Ustad Hafiz Mohammad Raees Khan of Madrasa said that the cowshed even provides a home to stray cattle and take care of its fodder.
It is to be noted that people of Tumra village see this not just as a Madrasa but as a temple as well. Breaking the stereotypes, students offer namaz and also take care of cows that are considered holy in the Hindu religion.
In a perfect example of humanity, free medical care is given to all no matter what religion, caste or race one belongs to.
