Satna: Hinauta, a village five kilometer away from Ramnagar Tehsil in Satna District of Madhya Pradesh, has no concrete roads from years. There are around 2,500 people in the village.

Transportation has become a major issue for villagers. Lack of concrete roads leads to an increase in commute and thus poses a significant challenge for villagers to travel during emergencies.

The innumerable potholes on the mud road make the journey even more difficult and time-taking.

Even the basic facilities such as hospitals, markets, shops, etc, everything is situated on the city side. The condition of the roads become worse at the time of the rainy season. Villagers carry their children in shoulders and drop them to school.

Seema Singh, one of the villagers said: "There is no vehicle facility available till five kilometer, even the connectivity to the nearest town is only through mud road. We are waiting for the construction of roads from years, but no village sarpanch, as well as secretary, are taking responsibility."

Shivbalak Sain, another villager told: "When anyone health deteriorates, we carry them in the cot to a hospital as we don't have other options."

We carry our children at the shoulder and then drop them to school, Samarjeet, another villager informed. "My grandfather is living here for 70 years, and he says that the condition of the road is same," Samarjeet added.
