Khandwa: Making a controversial statement, Madhya Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister Usha Thakur on Sunday said that people will be charged Rs 100 for taking a selfie with her and the money will go to the party fund. She said that money will be further used for the development works of the organisation. "A lot of time gets wasted in taking selfies, so now people will be charged Rs 100 per selfie and the party's treasurer will keep an account of that money," she added.

The minister was on a visit to the Khandwa district where she was seen using a gamachha instead of a face mask. On being asked the reason behind not using a face mask, Thakur said, "I have been living my life following Vedic method since childhood. "Agnihotra Yagya" is performed twice a day in my house and I also blow conch shell every day. Science has also claimed that performing Yagya increases one's immunity as it produces different gases which are helpful for the immunity. One who adopts these methods will always remain healthy," she claimed.

She further said that she uses a gamachha to protect herself from the Covid-19 virus. However, she appealed to people to wear a face mask to be safe amid the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic.
