Singrauli: A man in Madhya Pradesh's Singrauli who practised tantra allegedly killed his wife for sacrifice on Thursday, police said.
After murdering Bitty Bai, Brijesh Jatav buried the body in the house itself and took the severed head into the pooja room.
The couple has two sons Subendra Kumar Kewat and Manoj Kewat. When both of them reached the spot hearing commotion they saw that their father was butchering Bitty. Both fled the spot immediately.
However, one of them informed the police after which the police reached the house and took the accused Brijesh into custody.
Arun Pandey, police station in-charge of Baidhan said on Thursday that the matter seems to be related to superstition initially. Then only after investigation, the reality will be known, because the accused is talking about the wife's character.
It is believed that Brijesh was doing puja for the last few days and must have been sacrificed his wife to please Kuldevata.
