Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Congress got another jolt as Bada Malahara constituency MLA, Pradyuman Lodhi, joined the ruling BJP on Sunday.
The formal announcement was made by state BJP chief Vishnu Dutt Sharma this afternoon.
According to reports, Lodhi met former Chief Minister Uma Bharti around noon. Later, he met Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and state BJP chief VD Sharma and was formally admitted to the BJP.
It will necessitate by-election for another Assembly seat.
Notably, Lodhi, a former BJP Kisan Morcha leader from Bundelkhand, had joined Congress and contested assembly elections in 2018 where he had defeated BJP minister Lalita Yadav.
