Ratlam: An engineer from the city of Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh, has devised a Swadeshi ventilator that will be able to provide life support to seriously ill patients, just like any other expensive imported ventilator.
Ansar Ahmed Abbasi, a resident of PNT Colony, has created a portable ventilator at a cost of just 7000 rupees, which can also be operated via mobiles and laptops.
While most of the ventilators commonly used in the country are manufactured by China, Ansar Ahmed, along with his trainee Najeeb, has prepared this ventilator in a period of one month using Indian parts, hence naming it as “Indian Ventilator”.
As the cases of coronavirus are increasing day by day, Ansar Ahmed, and his apprentice Najeeb made a plan to make indigenous ventilators for the country due to the possibility of a shortage of ventilators.
Ahmed's ventilator can prove to be very helpful in the ongoing battle with the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Ansar Ahmed Abbasi, a mathematics teacher by profession, has done engineering in computer science.
