Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Amid the controversy surrounding Bajrang Bali and Bajrang Dal, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Sunday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should apologise to the people of the nation for the row mainly involving him. Attending a meeting with mandal and block level workers in Jabalpur, Singh also said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) should be taught the Karnataka lesson in Madhya Pradesh as the Assembly polls are due in the state by the end of the year.
Digvijay Singh said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has compared Bagrang Dal to Bajrang Bali. This is an insult as workers of Bajrang Dal were caught spying for Pakistan Intelligence agency. Comparing such party with Lord Ram is an insult to the Hindu religion. BJP had to suffer for comparing Lord Bajrang Bali to their party and as a result they lost in Karnataka. But still, the prime Minister should apologise, Singh added.
Speaking with the media, Singh said "If Congress comes into power in Madhya Pradesh under the leadership of Kamal Nath, we will empower the Panchayat system as it was in 2003. We will also fulfill the demands of guest teachers." Lauding Congress for its emphatic comeback in Karnataka, Singh said that BJP lost in Karnataka because of corruption, inflation, and unemployment. The BJP did injustice to the people and the Congress put up an impressive show by winning 135 seats. BJP in Madhya Pradesh will meet the same fate as in Karnataka in the upcoming Assembly polls.
