Indore: As citizens are grappling with the second wave of coronavirus in the country, Madhya Pradesh Police set an example of humanity when they cremated the body of an Assamese man who died of COVID-19 on Monday.
The cremation was done by the Khajrana police station in-charge Dinesh Verma and his team as the victim was living alone in Indore city.
Speaking to the media, Verma said that the victim has been identified as Pranju Mohan Baruah, a resident of Jorhat in Assam, who was working in a construction company in Indore.
"His office colleagues contacted the police and told about his death. The police team reached the place, and helped in cremating the body," he added.
Verma further said that the victim's family members were informed and they were also shown the live visuals of cremation through the mobile phone.
Notably, Indore, the state's worst coronavirus-hit district, is under 'Janata Curfew' with the movement of people and vehicles restricted only for emergency and essential purposes.
