Bhopal: The local administration has demolished Congress leader Arif Masood's property here, saying it was built illegally.
Police personnel, officials of the civic bodies and officials from the administration had gathered in front of the college owned by the Congress leader with trucks and heavy machinery to destroy the illegal parts of the building.
It has been learnt that in 2005, the district court issued a stay order on the main building of the college as it was built without due permission from the municipal corporation.
Earlier in the day, an FIR was lodged against Masood and others under Section 153 at Talaiya Police Station of Bhopal for allegedly hurting religious sentiments during a protest organized by him at Iqbal ground.
Masood had allegedly attacked the Central and State governments for their support to the French government. He had also reportedly burnt the effigy of France's President and the country's flag.
