Bhopal: Eighteen Tablighi Jamaat members who have completed time in quarantine centers have been arrested and presented in court on Thursday.

According to the police, all the accused have joined Delhi's Markaz before coming to Bhopal. Along with this, they were involved in religious ceremonies in Islampura, Bhopal and Momani mosque in Mangalwara.

The court has sent everyone to judicial custody. There are cases of arrested passports, passport act, foreign act and lockdown break. Talking to the media, ASP Manu Vyas has said that the Talaiya, Mangalwara police station has arrested 18 Jamaaties, 8 of them foreigners. Among those sent to jail are accused from Kazakhstan, South Africa, Tanzania, Maharashtra and Bihar.

All the people are accused that they were living in the city by hiding information, as well as taking part in religious events.

In April, the police had traced 65 Jamaaties from different religious places in the city by conducting a special operation, they had gone back to the Jamaat of Markaz located in Nizamuddin and tried to hide their information.

The depositors were presented with full security in the district court.

These accused were not taken inside the court, rather they were heard from inside the police vehicle in the courtyard, during which the court refused to grant bail to all the accused.

The argument of the government lawyer was that these accused can run abroad, on the basis of which all their bail pleas were canceled and they have been sent to jail till May 27.
