Idukki: Three people were admitted to hospital in critical condition after they consumed spurious alcohol at Chithirapuram in Idukki district.
Thankappan, a resort owner; Joby from Kannur and Manoj were admitted in critical condition. Joby worked as a helper at the resort and Manoj was a guest at the resort.
The three were reportedly consuming alcohol after mixing honey with it. Manoj had brought the alcohol from Thrissur on Sunday night. Thankappan was admitted to Morning Star Hospital at Adimali on Monday morning after developing uneasiness. Helper Joby was also admitted to the same at 11 am after suffering from excessive vomiting. Later, both Thankappan and Joby were shifted to MOSC Medical College in Kolenchery. Manoj was taken to a private hospital in Angamaly.
The police has launched an investigation into the incident.
