Ernakulam (Kerala): The bus of the Malipara Fatima Mata UP school caught fire in Kothamangalam, Ernakulam on Monday morning.
With the timely intervention of the driver, ten children in the vehicle were rescued without being injured.
As soon as the driver noticed smoke rising from the engine after the short circuit, he got the kids off the bus.
"There was a sudden short circuit and it is the reason the bus was gutted in the fire," the driver said.
Two units of the fire department from Kothamangalam rushed to the spot to douse the fire.
