'Perumkaliyattam' performed in Kerala

The traditional dance form of Kerala, 'Perumkaliyattam' was performed at the Kalliot village in Kasaragod district. A number of locals gathered to witness the dance form in which dancers were dressed in different characters while the musicians played the drums.

Kasaragod: Kerala's traditional art form 'Perumkaliyattam' was performed on Sunday at the Kalliot village in Kasaragod district.

Scores of locals gathered to witness the dance form in which dancers were dressed in different characters, while the musicians played the drums.

Swaying to the rhythmic beats, the dancers were decorated with heavy face-painting, headgear and loud costumes.

Theyyam is a traditional art form performed in temples of northern districts of Kerala, mainly Kannur and Kasargod.
