Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala): The Kerala government will impose a night curfew from Tuesday considering the Covid-19 surge in the state. The curfew will be imposed from 9 pm to 5 am for two weeks.
The decision was taken in a high-level meeting headed by Chief Secretary VP Joy.

No restriction is imposed on public transport. Also, the government decided to resume work from home facility. Malls and theatres have to be shut down at 7:30 pm.
Meanwhile, the Director of Public Instruction informed that the SSLC and Higher Secondary Examinations will not be postponed and will continue as per the schedule. The examinations will be conducted by strictly adhering to the Covid protocols.
As part of this, teaching and non-teaching staff members should ensure that students appearing for the exam are maintaining social distancing.

Earlier, the heart surgery department at Sree Chitra Hospital was closed following a surge in Covid infection cases. Seven people, including patients and staff in the cardiac and neurosurgery departments, were tested positive.
In the meantime, only emergency surgeries are performed in the neurosurgery department.
