Mother's friend held for raping minor girl in Kerala

The victim, a class VIII student, was raped by the man for two years. Police have taken the accused into custody and have registered an FIR against him under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

Kollam: A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped at Kadakkal in Kerala's Kollam district by a man, who is a friend of the victim’s mother.

The victim, a class VIII student of a government school, was raped by the man for two years.

According to sources, the accused identified as Ashish lives close to the victim’s house and was her mother’s friend.

The victim told the ordeal to her school teachers who informed to the Childline department.

Kadakkal police have taken the accused into custody and have registered an FIR against him under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
