Kollam: Extreme sports have never attracted the best of fan following in India. In order to change this trend, Faizan, son for a former Indian basketball player, is drawing inspiration from adventure sports to carve his own reputation as a daredevil in bicycle stunt arena.
The Kollam native can nail a perfect flip over three of his friends and perform bunny hop-a trick that allows the rider to launch their bike into the air as if jumping off a ramp- flawlessly.
The engineering student started getting attracted to stunting during his school days. Later on, during his college days in London, his dream became reality.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Faizan said that in London, sports arenas are a free platform which offers support to budding players like him, which is not the case in India.

Faizan cites lack of velodrome- the arena used for track cycling and skate parks. The turns also called superelevation in these tracks allows riders to keep their bikes relatively perpendicular to the surface while riding at speed. Such areas are necessary to promote, extreme sports in the country.
Faizan wants to do a PHD in extreme sports and start an academy to promote young talents. He also remains hopeful as BMX and skate boarding have been added to the Olympics in recent times.
His current goal is to 'bunny hop' his way into the Limca Book of Records.
