Kozhikode: Youth Congress workers protesting against Kerala Secretariat fire incident were lathi-charged by police in Kozhikode.
A video has gone viral in which a team of police can be seen beating mercilessly to protestors who were reportedly marching towards office of Kozhikode Police chief.
As per reports, several people got injured and shifted to a nearby hospital.
Earlier, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress held a protest outside the Secretariat alleging that the incident of fire was a conspiracy to destroy evidence in Gold Smuggling case.
They have also demanded a high-level probe into the matter.
It is to be noted here that a fire was reported in the protocol section of the General Administration Department in the Secretariat on Tuesday evening, which led to the gutting of several office files.
