Kerala man tricks 34 lakhs from Bengaluru teacher using dating app

A Kerala-based man from Bengaluru cheated a school teacher using the dating app 'tinder'. He fooled the woman and allegedly lured over Rs. 34 lakhs from her. He was taken into custody by the police and after questioning he revealed that he had cheated many other girls in a similar manner.

Bengaluru (Karnataka): A Kerala-based man residing here has deceived a school teacher by using a dating app and duped Rs. 34 lakhs from her.

The alleged accused, Joe Abraham Mathews was staying with his family in Bengaluru for over a couple of years. He worked in a private company and starting using dating apps to grab money from girls by cheating them.

Joe became familiar with a school teacher via a dating app 'tinder'. He fooled her by stating that he had a business of selling cars and was successful in gaining her trust too.

Following which, they even decided to get married to each other.

Joe then asked the teacher to provide financial help to him to raise his business, to which the teacher agreed and gave him over Rs. 34 lakh.

After receiving the money, Joe cunningly went out of her reach. He switched off his mobile phone and since the teacher could not trace him, she immediately informed the police and an investigation was initiated.

He was taken into custody by the police and after questioning he revealed that he had cheated many other girls in a similar manner.
