Alappuzha: Former Ranji Trophy cricketer M Suresh Kumar was found dead at his house in Alappuzha on Friday.
He was found hanging in his bedroom by around 7 pm.
Suresh who was also known as Umri among friends was working as an officer in the India Railways after his retirement from cricket.
He was also a part of India's under-19 cricket team in 1990 which was led by former Indian cricket team captain Rahul Dravid.
He played 72 First-Class matches and scored 1,657 runs and took 196 wickets. Suresh was a classic left-arm spinner and a natural talent. He was also well-known for his off-spin bowling.
Suresh had played a key role in Kerala's Ranji Trophy team which defeated Tamil Nadu's team for the first time in 1994-95.
