Fake FB account in the name of ADGP Vijay Sakhare tried to extort money in Kerala

An attempt was made to extort money by creating a fake Facebook account in the name of the Additional Director General of Police Vijay Sakhare. The fake account also used the profile picture of the ADGP's real Facebook account.

Thiruvananthapuram: An attempt was made to extort money by creating a fake Facebook account in the name of the Additional Director General of Police Vijay Sakhare. The fake account also used the profile picture of the ADGP's real Facebook account.

The scam came to light after a message was sent to ADGP's friends asking for Rs 10,000 through this fake account. Unidentified criminals have used the fake account in the name of ADGP Vijay Sakhare to seek money via Google Pay. Police have registered a case at the Ernakulam Central Police station. The Cyber Cell has started an investigation into the case.
