Bengaluru: The Bhartiya Janata Party on Saturday released its second list of candidates for the upcoming polls from Karnataka, but surprisingly key constituency of Bangalore South was missing from the list.
It was widely tipped that Tejaswini Ananth Kumar, wife of BJP stalwart H N Ananth Kumar, who had represented the seat for six consecutive terms, will be announced as a candidate from Bangalore South.
But withholding Tejaswini Ananth Kumar's candidature has given rise to speculations that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi may contest from Bengaluru South Lok Sabha constituency.
Karnataka will be the best and safest choice if Narendra Modi decides to contest from the south; sources said.
This Lok Sabha seat has been with the BJP since 1991.
According to sources, if Narendra Modi decides to contest from Bengaluru South then Congress will field DK Shivkumar against Modi.
