Bengaluru (Karnataka): Union Minister Sadananda Gowda has come under attack from BJP strong supporter Chakravarthi Sulibele over his remarks that he 'pities those who are misleading people on flood relief.'

Gowda had made the remark in a tweet after several leaders and organisations went public in their criticism against the delay in the Centre releasing aid for flood relief in Karnataka.

"I pity those who have been giving false information to the people by spreading unsubstantiated stories about the compensation amount for the flood-affected regions," Gowda said in a tweet.

Reacting over it, Sulibele said that the entire State is criticizing Gowda for showing the audacity to describe flood victims of North Karnataka as those misleading the people.

"Never forget that the ministerial position has been gifted to you by the people in the form of alms. What is the use of the compensation if it does not come even after floods recede and people are trying to revert to their normal activities?" said Sulibele.

As per sources, Sadananda Gowda has since blocked him on twitter as Sulibele continued to attack him personally.
