Chikkamagaluru: Doctors in a government hospital successfully removed a tumour weighing 18 kg from a woman’s stomach on Saturday in Karnataka.
What started as minor swelling soon grew into a tumour in the stomach of a 45-year-old woman, a native of Shivamogga.
For a long time, she kept thinking that her weight was increasing due to the accumulation of body fat. But after getting a scan she got the news of the stomach tumour.
Thereafter, she was admitted to Koppa government hospital in Chikkamagaluru district for the Surgery.
Dr Balakrishna and his team, who have handled many tumour cases, successfully removed the tumour. Presently, the woman is recovering at the hospital.
Doctors are still researching on the tumour and its growth.
