Bengaluru: A teenage girl of Jain University committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling in her PG room on Monday, police said.
The incident came to light when the fellow girl students in the PG noticed Gayatri hanging and informed the staff.
Gayatri was in a relationship with Sudharshan who hails from Tamilnadu. The girl was last seen talking to her boyfriend near her room, police informed.
After meeting her boyfriend and going back to her room, she later called him again which he refused to come and that might be the reason behind her committing suicide, police added.
According to police, Gayatri hails from Tamilnadu and was staying in Yadiyuru Tata silk farm PG for pursuing her higher studies at Jain University, Bengaluru.
A case under section CrPC 174 (suspicious death) has been registered and investigating the case to ascertain the facts behind her decision.
