Sandalwood Drug Case: Aditya Alva nabbed by CCB police

Aditya Alva is the brother-in-law of actor Vivek Oberoi and one of the accused in the Sandalwood Drug Case. He has been arrested by Central Crime Branch (CCB) of the Bengaluru police on Monday night.

Bengaluru: A team of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) of the Bengaluru police have arrested Aditya Alva, brother-in-law of Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi in connection with sandalwood drug case from Chennai on Monday night.

Aditya Alva, who was at large for four months, landed in CCB trap on Monday night while he was in a resort located in Chennai.

Acting on reliable inputs of Alva's presence there, the CCB police team raided the resort and arrested him.

"Alva has been absconding since September 4 last year and was reported to have left Karnataka. He is the sixth accused in the Sandalwood Drug Case. Alva allegedly hosted drug parties even during the lockdown," a police official said.

"The police had issued a look out notice and searched for him in various places including the house of actor Vivek Oberoi in Mumbai. Police have also conducted a raid at his house in October last year and recovered drugs from there," the official said.

Aditya Alva is the son of former Karnataka minister Jeevraj Alva and the former named in the FIR registered at Cottonpet police station in the Sandalwood Drug Case.

Meanwhile, police have taken him to the custody and started interrogating him. Further investigation is underway.

Aditya Alva is the son of former Karnataka minister Jeevraj Alva and the former named in the FIR registered at Cottonpet police station in the Sandalwood Drug Case.

Meanwhile, police have taken him to the custody and started interrogating him. Further investigation is underway.
