Rain lashes parts of Karnataka including Bengaluru, Hubballi

Heavy rainfall continued to lash parts of Karnataka, including capital Bengaluru for the third consecutive day. The heavy downpour led to traffic jam in many areas. Several areas were submerged in water after consecutive hours of raining that disrupted life.

Bengaluru: Rains continued to lash parts of the state, including Bangalore, for the third consecutive day. Heavy rains poured in the state capital on Friday evening and late at night.

The number of buses was also significantly reduced due to the weekend lockdown, which caused many people to get stuck in the rain. The Majestic, Gandhinagar, Yeshwantpur, Dasarahalli, Rajajinagar, Basaveshwara Nagar, Wilson Garden, Shanti Nagar and Koramangala areas were affected by traffic jam due to rain. The heavy rain continued till late at night with thunder and lightning.

The rainfall in Mahadevapura and KR Pura for two consecutive hours filled the area with water and disrupted life. Basavanagudi, Jayanagar, Banashankari, Vijayanagar, Yelahanka and Majestic surroundings are also flooded. Roads were submerged in water for kilometres in some low lying areas of Mahadevapura and KR Pura.

India Meteorological Department has warned that there will be light and moderate rainfall scattered in the state's Northern Inland and Coastal districts.
