Tumkur (Karnataka): Prime Minister Narendra Modi's brother Prahlad Modi today thanked the Karnataka Chief Minister Yediyurappa and his Cabinet colleagues for passing the cow slaughtering ban bill in the state assembly.
Speaking to journalists after participating in Pranaprathishtapane ceremony at the Vaishno Devi temple in Tumkur, he said that in Hindu culture cow is worshipped as a mother, it's not treated as just a creature.

This law is not intended to bring harm to religion or caste. It is a law that upholds the culture of the country. We need to understand the ideas of Mahavira, Buddha and Gandhiji in the country, said the PM's brother.
