A notorious drug peddler, who was illegally staying in India from the past seven years has been arrested by Bengaluru police.

Bengaluru (Karnataka): The Bengaluru Police have arrested a notorious drug peddler who was hiding from last seven years in connection with Sandalwood Drug Deal case.

The drug peddler known as VT, a Nigerian national had come to Bengaluru on a business passport. However, he was illegally residing in Bengaluru as his passport validity has expired.

VT was running a large network of drugs in the city and his clients would range from politician's children, film actresses, engineering, medical and business students.

In addition to this, he had links with Drug Peddler Loom Pepper and Prateek Shetty, through whom Ragini and Sanjana took drugs.

He is currently in the custody of the Bangalore police and is being held on suspicion of involvement with peddlers.

Earlier, on October 17, police issued a second notice to Priyanka Alva, wife of Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi in connection with the Sandalwood drug trafficking case while the first notice was issued on October 16.

Kannada actress Ragini Dwivedi was arrested and taken into custody for her alleged involvement in a drug case. Notably, Kannada filmmaker Indrajit Lankesh appeared before the CCB and revealed information about the consumption of drugs in the Kannada film industry
