Bengaluru: Miscreants killed a woman and her three-year-old daughter by slitting their throats at an apartment in Chowdeshwari Layout under
the Begur Police Station limits in Bengaluru.
The deceased was identified as Yamuna aka Chandrakala (35) and her daughter Ratanya (4). The incident happened on Wednesday and came to light when Chandrakala's sister visited the place. The mother's body was found in the hall whereas the toddler's in a room. The bodies were lying in a pool of blood.
Police said that the family of Chandrakala was shifted to Bengaluru four years ago. Her husband Channaveeraswamy was working in a garment factory. They hailed from Chitradurga district. Chandrakala used to stay at home with her daughter and she was into online marketing of Ayurvedic products.
As per the initial investigation, police found that a stranger entered the house in the morning after Chandrakala's husband Channaveeraswamy went to work and he had left the house in the afternoon. The police are suspecting his role in the killing of mother and daughter.
The cops are retrieving the CCTV footage from the surrounding areas to get clues about miscreants, who entered the house of the victims. The miscreants stabbed Chandrakala and her daughter and slit their throats. The miscreants robbed gold jewellery from the house, police said.
Additional Commissioner S Murugan rushed to the spot and took up the investigation.
