Shivamogga (Karnataka): Amid the coronavirus-induced lockdown, the plight of poor migrant workers has no parallel as they seem to be worst sufferers of ongoing nationwide lockdown.
Desperate to return home, six migrant workers embarked on their bicycles from Maharashtra's Thane to Karnataka's Shivamogga district, covering a distance of almost 800 km.
These youngsters started their journey on May 2 and reached their home town on May 13.
The youths were working in a jewellery shop in Mumbai but with no money in hand and travel restrictions due to the lockdown, they decided to return their home town on their bicycles.
It is to be noted that as they entered Shivamogga district, cops collected their details and sent them to the District Hospital for the medical check-up.
