Shivamogga (Karnataka): K.Srinivas, a resident of Karnataka's Shivamogga has grown at least 20 varieties of mangoes on a single tree.
K. Srinivas was an assistant horticulture officer and after his retirement from the services fifteen years ago, he planted a mango tree in the backyard of his house.
Not only he planted the tree but also grafted more than 20 different varieties on it.

The tree that Srinivas has grafted on has a variety of fruits including Ratnagiri, Totapuri, Baigan, Mallika.
During trip to other districts and states, Srinivas would bring a mango plant and graft it on the tree.

"I would bring mango branches every year and graft them on the tree. Now many varieties have grown on a single tree", he said.
He also said that other cultivators can also earn profit by growing many varieties on a single tree.
He also gives a part of his cultivation to his neighbours and friends.
