Karnataka to receive 20,000 doses of Covaxin: Dr. K. Sudhakar

Karnataka is set to receive 20,000 doses of Covaxin says Health & Medical Education Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar as the state prepares to inaugurate vaccination drive on January 16.

Bengaluru (Karnataka): 20,000 doses of Covaxin will be arriving in the state soon, said Health & Medical Education Minister Dr K. Sudhakar. he was speaking to the media here on Wednesday.

The only difference between Covaxin vial and Covi-shield vial is Covi-shield has 5 ml of vaccine in a vial and covaxin has 10 ml of vaccine in a vial. One vial can vaccinate 20 people. Both the vaccine will be given in the state and there is no choice for any, said the Health Minister.

Central government has issued a guideline regarding which district and which staff to be given the vaccination. All districts will be distributed with the vaccine to inaugurate the vaccination drive on January 16th, he said.

The minister congratulated the newly inducted ministers to the CM BSY cabinet and said some of the leaders could not make into the list, but they will be given a suitable position in the party. Our government is working transparently and taking all the schemes to the doorsteps of the beneficiaries. There will be unhappiness when a cabinet is expanded, but it’s a part of democracy, said Dr. Sudhakar. all leaders are united and there is no dissidence in the party, he clarified.

"An Appeal and not Notice"

"Cinema star Yash is into many social works and I personally admire him. The health department has appealed to him regarding his new upcoming movie. But this is not a notice. I heard that there is a smoking scene in the cinema and he has been appealed to remove that scene which will give a good message for the society. There are many youths in his fan club and this is applicable for all movies," said the Minister.

The minister was referring to a scene in Yash's new movie KGF which features him smoking in a scene.
