Kalaburagi: Three members of a family died of Covid-19 in Karnataka, which is one of the worst-hit states in the deadly second outbreak of the disease in India.
Sripatirava Badigera (66), his wife Mahadevi Badigera (58) and their son Mauneshakumara (42) were residents of Mahadev Nagara in Kalaburagi district.
Mahadevi died two weeks ago, while Sripatirava and Mauneshakumara died on Thursday after failing to respond to treatment.
Mauneshakumara was working in a private company in Mumbai and he was in Kalaburagi to visit his mother. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Karnataka has been witnessing a surge in COVID-19 cases and deaths.

According to the Union Health Ministry, Karnataka has 5,14,259 active cases of coronavirus. The state has witnessed 24,207 Covid-related deaths.
