K C Venugopal to resign as AICC general secretary incharge of Karnataka

Karnataka AICC general secretary, KC Venugopal will resign after leaders Siddaramaiah and KPCC president Dinesh Gundurao also tendered their resignation from the grand old party. Reports suggest Venugopal decided to quit post as the Congress did not achieve the expected result in the by-election.

Bengaluru: After the resignations by Opposition party leader Siddaramaiah and KPCC president Dinesh Gundurao, K C Venugopal has also decided to resign from general secretary post of AICC in Karnataka.

According to the sources, Venugopal already sent the resignation letter to AICC interim president Sonia Gandhi.

On Tuesday, Siddaramaiah and Dinesh Gundurao gave their resignation bearing the moral responsibility for the by election defeat.

Reports suggest Venugopal decided to quit the post as the Congress did not achieve the expected result in the by-election.

The state congress also decided to appoint new incharge within a week.
