'Go vote for Modi,' Kumaraswamy lashes out at protesters

Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy lashed out at protesters who blocked his bus in Raichur, asking them to 'go vote for Modi'. He also reportedly threatened to order 'lathicharge' if the protesters did not budge.

Raichur (Karnataka): Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Wednesday lost his cool and lashed out at protesters who were blocking his bus in Karnataka's Raichur.

Kumaraswamy also threatened lathicharge

Workers from Yermarus Thermal Power Station surrounded Kumaraswamy's bus, which was on its way to Karegudda for his 'village stay' programme.

The protesters protested over wages and other issues and reportedly raised slogans of 'Shame! Shame!', when Kumarswamy lost his cool and lashed out at them.

Seated inside his red bus, Kumaraswamy reportedly asked protesters to 'go and vote for Modi'. He reportedly asked protesters why they come to him with problems when eventually they end up voting for Modi.

He then reportedly threatened the protesters to give a 'lathicharge' order if they did not budge.

Other senior leaders then reportedly pacified the Chief Minister as his bus left for Karegudda.

Intro:The US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo started his day by meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg.


Body:Sources have told ETV Bharat that Mike Pompeo extended greetings to PM Modi on his re-election. It was a sort of preparatory meet ahead of bilateral talks between PM Modi and US President Donald Trump at the G20 summit in Japan.

Mike Pompeo will also be meeting his counterpart Dr. S Jaishankar where both leaders are likely discuss matters like S 400 deal with Russia, curbs on H1B visa and importing of oil from Iran.


Conclusion:Later in the day, Secretary Pompeo will also be meeting National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. He will also speak at the India International Centre.
