Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister on Monday, decided to increase the contingency fund of the state to facilitate the release of monetary benefits to the farmers under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme.
According to reports, the newly elected CM held a cabinet meeting today following which the decision was taken.

"This (Ordinance) is to facilitate the release of Rs. 2000 to the farmers of the state under the PM-KISAN scheme. The ordinance is being forwarded to the governor for his approval," CMO officials said.

Under PM-KISAN scheme, an amount of Rs. 2000 each in three instalments will be transferred directly to the bank account of beneficiaries through the DBT scheme.
