Bengaluru woman's baby dies in womb due to hospital bed unavailability

A pregnant woman from Bengaluru lost her child as she was not admitted to the hospital. Unfortunately, she gave birth to a dead child in the auto-rickshaw while heading towards K.C General Hospital. A case has been registered in connection to the matter at Malleshwaram Police Station.

Bengaluru (Karnataka): In an unfortunate incident a pregnant woman lost her child as she was not admitted to the hospital allegedly due to the unavailability of beds.

Reportedly, the woman experienced pain and approached the Vanivilas Hospital at Kalasipalya here but the hospital was not ready to admit her stating scarcity of beds.

Following this, she headed to K.C General Hospital. Meanwhile, she gave birth to the child in the auto-rickshaw itself. Unfortunately, the baby had died in her womb.

A case has been registered in connection to the matter at Malleshwaram Police Station. Further investigation into the matter is underway.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, most of the hospitals including private hospitals are facing a major problem of beds unavailability.
