Bagalkot: In a tragic accident, four people were killed when the car they were travelling in, collided with a KSRTC bus near Shirol village in Karnataka's Bagalkot district, in the wee hours of Friday.
According to reports, the car collided with the bus while attempting to overtake a sugarcane-laden truck, near Sirol in Mudhol taluk.
The four people reportedly died on the spot and have been identified as Siddaraya Theli (36), Balappa Sendagi (34), Hanamantha Ganagara (21), and Riyaz Jaalageri (25).
The car was on its way to Dharwad, while the bus was travelling from Belagavi to Mudhol.
Meanwhile, the Mudhol Police visited the spot, and an investigation into the matter is currently underway. The dead bodies have been sent to the Mudhol lych-house.
Earlier on December 31, two people had been injured after Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa's convoy rammed into vehicles at Yeswanthpur.
The driver of the car lost control of the vehicle and crashed against the road divider before colliding with a truck and an auto-rickshaw.
