Jamshedpur: In a tragic road accident reported in Jharkhand on New Year Day, six persons were killed while one person was injured when the car they were traveling in skidded off the road and overturned in Jamshedpur on Monday, sources said. An official said that some people from RIT police station area had gone out for picnic in a car when it went out of control and overturned near Bistupur Circuit House roundabout.
In the horrific car accident, five travelers died on the spot. While one person died in the hospital during treatment. A sixth person is being treated at Tata Main Hospital. Reports said that the horrific road accident took place when the car hit a road divider near the Bistupur Circuit House roundabout. The victims are said to be residents of Adityapur.
Pertinently, the horrific road accident in Jamshedpur comes a week after another mishap in the city which took place on the occasion of Christmas Day on Dec 25 last year on NH-33 in the MGM Thana area, near Jamshedpur. In the tragic road accident, two people were killed while three others sustained injuries when the car they were traveling in overturned in the said area.
The victims in the Dec 25 road accident were residents of West Bengal capital Kolkata. The victims were reportedly en route to Jubilee Park to celebrate Christmas festivities when the tragic road accident took place. The deceased were identified as Dilip Roy (65) and Mohammed Uzir (42), residents of Kolkata.
While as the survivors identified as Rafiul Mollah (35) and Jahirul Haque (43), were transferred to Tata Main Hospital from MGM Medical College Hospital (MGMMCH) for specialised treatment.
