Local BJP leader shot dead in Jharkhand's Latehar

Unidentified assailants shot a local BJP leader dead in Jharkhand's Latehar district on Sunday. The incident was witnessed by locals who also attempted to catch the assailants but did not succeed.

Latehar (Jharkhand): Local BJP leader Jayvardhan Singh was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Latehar’s Barwadih block here on Sunday evening.

Two armed assailants shot him dead near Barwadih bus station at around 7.30 pm on Sunday, police informed.

The incident was witnessed by locals who also tried to catch the assailants but did not succeed.

A case has been registered in the local police station.

An investigation into the matter is underway.
