Koderma: A truck carrying sand overturned in Jharkhand spilling a large number of smuggled bottles of liquor hidden in the cargo, police said on Monday.
As the news of the accident, which happened on Sunday in Koderma district near the Bariarpur-Jhanjhi More in the Satganwa police station area, spread like wildfire, villagers looted the liquor bottles and fled, according to police.
The truck crashed into a field damaging crops, they added.
The driver and the helper of the truck, which was carrying sand that was lifted illegally are absconding, police said.
