Jamtara (Jharkhand): The family members in Jharkhand's Jamtara has claimed that they had to pull their septuagenarian father on a cot to get the latter’s pension money.
The incident came to light after a video was widely shared on social media showing an old man, Lalu Mahato of Mohanpur in Karmatand block, was dragged on a cot to get pension money.
This is not the only story of Lalu Mahato, many disabled persons are getting affected for their pension in this district.
Even the relatives take the disabled to the Divisional Office to get a pension, the government officials and government representatives are showing their negligence to them.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, a social worker, Rajendra Mandal said, "Lalu Mahato is a physically handicapped person and he cannot walk. He is not getting pension for the last 3 years."
"Finally, the family felt defeated and brought him to the block office to get the pension. The family and the disabled man waited at the office for a long time. There are many people with disabilities and they are worried about old age pension, disabled pension, but the officials do not listen," Mandal said.
"Government officials can see how my family members are suffering and how I am suffering. I have not received my pension for 3 years and 8 months. My family had no option but to drag charpoy to the Government office. I request the government to help me in this crucial condition," said Lalu Mahato.
