person accused of father’s murder and conspirator
Samri- Tamar assembly seat in Ranchi district has always
been in the news. In 2009, Shibu Soren lost the by-election as Chief Minister
and President's rule had to be imposed in the state. Now once again the unique
equation is made. On this seat, a son, accused of killing his father and the
conspirator of the murder case, all three are in the fray.
Ranchi: Discussion of the Tamar assembly seat of Ranchi
district in Jharkhand is being held national level these days. This is because
the three people that are connected to each other. The first name in this is
Vikas Singh Munda, whose father Ramesh Singh Munda was killed. The second is
the infamous Naxalite Kundan Pahan, who is accused of murder, and the third
person is Gopal Krishna Patar alias Raja Peter, who is in jail on charges of
plotting the murder.
To understand this situation of politics in Tamar, one has
to go back 11 years. The date was 9 July 2008, the place was the school of
Baruhatu village in Bundu. School children were preparing to welcome former
Jharkhand minister Ramesh Singh Munda in connection with a program. At that
time, the Naxalites ambushed Ramesh Singh Munda with bullets. Why this attack
happened, who did it and who was behind the attack, these questions were
answered after 9 years when the infamous Naxalite Kundan Pahan of the same
region surrendered to the police on 14 May 2017.
The desire to become a leader of Naxalites
After the surrender, Kundan Pahan did a media briefing in
the presence of the police. At the same time, Kundan had expressed his
intention of joining politics. In response to the questions by journalists, he
said that he will definitely enter politics. Kundan, accused in 44 serious
cases, had so much confidence that no charges could be proved on him and he
would be released soon. But circumstances have changed.
Big revelations in NIA investigation
After the surrender of Kundan Pahan, AJSU MLA Vikas Singh
Munda from Tamar sat on hunger strike saying that his father was murdered by
Kundan, therefore, the investigation of this whole matter should be given to
CBI or NIA. The AJSU party was involved in the government, so the government
also recommended an inquiry. A shocking point came from here. The NIA
investigation revealed that former MLA Gopal Krishna Patar alias Raja Peter was
involved in the murder of Ramesh Singh Munda. He had given the responsibility
of murder to Kundan. Raja Peter went behind bars as soon as the needle of
inquiry turned around.
Ramesh Singh Munda’s murder
It is said that Raja Peter was obsessed with reaching the
seat of power. He wanted to win the election from Tamar, but popular leader of
Tamar Ramesh Singh Munda was coming in the way. For this reason, he conspired
to assassinate Ramesh Singh Munda. Immediately, Raja Peter also got the benefit
of this.
Passion sent him to jail
After the assassination of Ramesh Singh Munda, the Congress
withdrew support to Madhu Koda's government and Shibu Soren came to power. Now
Shibu had to contest the assembly elections within six months. Then he saw the
empty seat of Tamar. He did not know that he was trapped in Raja Peter's plot. With
the support of the Naxalites, Raja Peter gave a tough blow to the Chief
Minister. Shibu Soren's government fell and the state came under President's
rule. After four months, again a government was formed under the leadership of
Arjun Munda with manipulations and Raja Peter became the Minister of Excise and
Alcoholism in that government. A few years later, in the NIA investigation, Raja
Peter appeared as a conspirator and was sent to jail.
The wheel of time turned again in Tamar
Amidst the noise of the 2019 assembly elections, Tamar has
once again come into the limelight. In 2014, Vikas did not even know that the
Raja Peter whom he defeated would be the conspirator for the murder of his
father. This time, not only is Raja Peter the conspirator of the father's
murder in front of Vikas, but Kundan Pahan, an accused in the murder, has also
threatened to come. Now it is the choice of Tamar’s people.
Who is Raja Peter
Gopal Krishna Patar alias Raja Peter is accused of plotting to
assassinate former minister Ramesh Singh Munda. According to the NIA, Raja
Peter gave five crores rupees to Kundan Pahan for killing Ramesh Munda. After
the assassination of Ramesh Singh Munda, the then Chief Minister Shibu Soren
was defeated by Raja Peter in the Tamar Assembly by-election. In the government
of Arjun Munda, Raja Peter has been the Minister of Excise and Alcoholism. Raja
Peter Matric is close by. In addition to the total cash of Rs 11 lakh 88
thousand 253, he has movable and immovable assets worth Rs 1.7 crore.
Who is Kundan Pahan
Kundan Pahan's real name is Bir Singh Pahan. Kundan, a
resident of Barrigada village in Arki block of Khunti district, took up arms
after a quarrel over family land. His two brothers also joined hands with the
Maoists. Although one of his brothers Dimba Pahan had already surrendered,
while the other brother Shyam Pahan was arrested by the police from Punjab. A
total of 128 cases are registered on Kundan.
It is said that in the year 1999, a meeting of Naxalite leaders
was going on in a village in Khunti district. After the meeting ended, there
came a 16-year-old boy, who did not get justice from the police. The boy's land
was occupied by relatives. Naxalite leaders promised to get him back the land
and asked him to fight against the landlords and join the organization. In this
way, the 16-year-old boy joined the blood-stained Naxal movement. Later, this
boy became famous as Kundan Pahan.
After joining the organization in the year 1999, Kundan
became another name of terror in the Naxal history of Jharkhand. The Jharkhand
police kept searching for him for 18 years with just one photograph. During
this time 128 criminal cases including murder, robbery were registered on
Kundan. Kundan is accused of killing the then Jamshedpur MP Sunil Mahato,
former minister and MLA Ramesh Singh Munda, Bundu DSP Pramod Kumar, six
policemen and Special Branch Inspector Francis Indwar. Not only this, Kundan
Pahan was the main accused in robbing a private bank of five crore rupees and a
kilo of gold. A case has been registered against Kundan Pahan, including the
murder of DSP and Inspector, 50 in Khunti district, 42 in Ranchi, 27 in
Chaibasa, 7 in Seraikela and Gumla.
