Bokaro (Jharkhand): On the occasion of 21st anniversary of the Kargil Vijay Diwas, a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan died in a hospital in Jharkhand allegedly owing to lack of timely treatment. The incident took place at Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) in Jharkhand.

The deceased, Uday Shankar Sharma of Eighth Battalion of BSF, a resident at Bokaro, was posted at CT (GD) post in West Bengal. His family alleged that he died due to the negligence of the doctors as they did not start the treatment even after knowing that he was seriously ill.

Jawan's brother-in-law Mahendra Kumar Sharma said that his blood pressure and sugar had become very high. Despite this, the doctors did not give him treatment. The daughter of the deceased, Sneha Kumari, said: "My father did not have corona infection but despite that we got him examined, but his test report came too late." Uday's health deteriorated in the camp while on duty after which his family took him to a hospital on July 22.
