New Delhi: Criticizing Hemant Soren-led JMM-Congress-RJD alliance government of Jharkhand for not letting the state assembly announce its Leader of the Opposition, BJP MP Samir Oraon on Friday alleged that by doing so, it was creating hurdles for development of the state.
Interacting with the ETV Bharat here, Oraon said it was unprecedented and very unfortunate, specially when Babulal Marandi has already merged his Jharkhand Vikas Morcha with the BJP and our legislative party has elected him its leader
The BJP MP alleged that Jharkhand Legislative Assembly Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahato should resolve the issue by talking to the government.
"The Assembly Speaker is under influence of the government. He must talk to them and declare Babulal Marandi as Leader of the Opposition in the assembly," Oraon said, adding that the Election Commission of India has also sealed the merger of his party into the BJP.
The government is finding it difficult that that the BJP would check it wherever it would go wrong.
"The present does not want development of the state. That's why it comes up with all sorts of agendas to gratify itself," the BJP Jharkhand MP alleged.
