Five Naxals arrested in Jharkhand's Palamu

Five Naxals of the Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC) and Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC) were arrested by police in Jharkhand's Palamu on Friday.

Palamu (Jharkhand): Five Naxals were arrested here following raids by police on Friday.

They belonged to the Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC) and Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC).

In a press release, police said, "Raids were conducted and an extremist of the TPC was nabbed. After his interrogation, further raids were conducted in forest area and four others extremists of TPC and TSPC were arrested."

Intro:New Delhi: Congress party attacked the Center over the "deepening economic crisis", on Saturday, alleging that the Government is guilty of monumental mismanagement of the economy.


Body:During the Congress Working Committee meeting, held today, a resolution has been passed by the party, demanding the Government to reveal it's roadmap for reviving the economy, investors confidence and job creation.

"CWC notes that the economic situation of the country is alarming. Mounting job losses, closure of factories, sharp fall in production, consumer demand and consumption, along with collapse of investments are a matter of serious concern. The unemployment has reached 45 year high, new jobs are not been created but existing Jobs have been destroyed and feeling of despair prevails among the youth today," said Congress senior leader Anand Sharma.

While addressing the CWC meet, Congress President Sonia Gandhi said, "As for the state of the economy it seems to me the government has neither the wisdom not the will to take measures to stop that down slide in the economy which is causing untold misery to practically all sections of the society."

Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala also mentioned about the recent data released by the NCRB, stating that youth is committing suicide due to joblessness. He said, "More than 12,000 young people have committed suicide because they don't have a job. More than 10,000 farmers chose to take their lives because then not getting right prices for their crops. I think Prime Minister and Home Minister should give an appropriate response to these figures."

The party has also expressed deep concerns over the recent developments held in the Gulf region where tensions have spiralled between the US and Iran.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi said in a statement, "The shocking development in the Gulf region and the outbreak of hostilities between US and Iran are a matter of Grave concern. For India, matches at stake, our energy, security and the welfare of large Indian diaspora. Any escalation of the conflict will have serious consequences for the region in the world we hope that the current situation will be diffused."

"It is imperative that India puts in place well-thought contingency plans to meet any situation and also engage in diplomatic initiatives for de-escalation of tensions. We see whether an appreciation of The dangerous by the government nor a willingness to engage and make a difference," said Anand Sharma.
