The elephant turned the house into a debris in a matter of few seconds. The whole incident was captured in a CCTV footage, officials said.
Out of fear, the family of the victim, Pintu Dutta, remained hidden inside the house during the elephant attack.
During the incident, the animal destroyed many things kept in the premises of the house.
"Despite repeated complaints, forest officials did not turn up to look into matter," ward councilor Pintu Dutta said.

Locals complained that the forest department showed little interest in resolving the issue. People living near the lowlands of Dalma face constant trouble made by the elephants.
Dutta's residence is situated near the Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary and the area has been experiencing regular visits by the wild animals.
