Union Ministers to visit J&K in govt’s outreach programme

It is learnt from reliable sources that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked his cabinet colleagues to give top priority to Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh.

New Delhi: In an attempt to restore the legislative bodies in the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and the Leh-Ladakh region, the Central government has launched a large-scale parliamentary outreach programme for the empowerment of Panchayati Raj institutions in the regions.

In view of this, various Union Ministers are scheduled to visit Jammu and Kashmir to inspect the developmental projects of their respective departments.

According to sources, rosters were prepared by the government for the visit of Union Ministers to Jammu and Kashmir till October under the guidance of Amit Shah. Presently, six central ministers are scheduled to visit Jammu and Kashmir. A total of 66 ministerial visits are scheduled in October.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari is scheduled to visit Jammu and Kashmir on September 27, where he will lay the foundation stone for three national highways, apart from that he will also inspect the Zojila tunnel.

Visits of other ministers like Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Anurag Thakur and Giriraj Singh to Ladakh are also on cards.
