Shopian (Jammu and Kashmir): Two terrorists were killed in an encounter with the security forces in Melhoora area of Shopian on Monday, said Kashmir Zone Police.
A joint team of Police, Army’s 55 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
"Police and security forces are carrying out the operation. The encounter is still underway," Kashmir Zone Police said.
Meanwhile, Inspector Mohammad Ashraf Bhat who was fired upon by terrorists near his residence in Anantnag succumbed to his injuries. Further investigation is underway.
